Polyurethane (PUR) and Flame Retardant Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) IP67-Rated RJ-45 Patch Cables/Industrial Assemblies
Siemon's Industrial Assembly offering is being expanded to include two new jacket types: PUR and TPE.
Polyurethane (PUR) offers the best resistance to tearing, abrasion, chemicals, weather and provides overall toughness. Flame Retardant Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) provides a toughness similar to PUR but with reduced cost. PUR and TPE are available with RJ-45 patch cables or IP67 rated Industrial Assemblies. Each of these new products offer improved properties while providing additional choices for industrial applications. These assemblies are available in both UTP and SF/UTP construction with Cat5e performance. The cable jackets are pressure-extruded over the 4-pair core. The extrusion process locks the pairs in place, guaranteeing stable electrical performance including capacitance, impedance and return loss, even when the cable is mechanically stressed or subjected to a high flex rate.
